Meet Our Leathers

We use only the finest top-grain leather in all our bags — never microfiber or PU.

Select styles also feature full-grain leather or suede, chosen for added texture and durability.

How We Select Our Leather?

Each hide is fully opened and inspected by hand, then tested in our lab for strength, texture, and durability.

Large pieces like the Large Flow Tote require whole-cut leather pieces to maintain a clean, consistent surface — resulting in around 40% usage, while smaller bags can use up to 70% of a hide.

We avoid belly and neck areas, as well as any sections with wrinkles, scars, stains, insect bites, scratches, black or white spots, pinholes, or heavy vein marks.

How to Distinguish Our Top-Grain Leather

Look

Real cowhide has natural, uneven grain patterns. Even on one hide, the texture is not exactly the same. You may see small lines or marks — these are normal and show it’s genuine. Top-grain leather has a tight, dense structure, while split or synthetic leather looks looser.

Touch

Top-grain leather feels soft, smooth, and naturally supple. Lower-grade leather often feels overly coated or plasticky due to heavy artificial processing.

Smell

A new BAMPO leather bag carries the natural scent of real leather. Our vegetable-tanned pieces have a soft, earthy note, while the “Tea-Aroma Calfskin” bags offer a refreshing hint of tea.

Pinch

High-quality top-grain leather has natural elasticity. A light press creates fine wrinkles, and gentle folding shows organic creases — both signs of authentic leather.

Types of Our Leather

Top-grain Leather from Ireland

Known for its smooth surface and supple feel, this leather is soft, lightweight, and exceptionally durable. It travels well, folds easily, and always returns to its original form.

Vegetable-Tanned Cowhide

Tanned with natural plant oils and dyed with botanical extracts, it develops warm, earthy tones, a subtle organic aroma, and a rich patina. Sturdy and sustainable, it ages gracefully.

Suede

Soft suede with a velvety matte finish, warm and inviting to the touch. Perfect for adding comfort and style to your fall and winter wardrobe.

Full-Grain Leather with Natural Texture

Refined through 36 steps, this leather is soft, springy, and breathable. It retains its natural character while offering excellent durability.

Meet Our Dong Cloth

We carefully select the Bright Dong Cloth by a minority tribe in China.

Bright cloth is a rare type of Dong fabric known for its unique sheen and intricate craftsmanship. It involves over 30 steps, taking up to a year to complete.

The fabric is tightly woven and durable, offering resistance to wear, water, and stains.

After being polished by traditional methods, Dong cloth achieves its mysterious and noble shine, offering a look and feel of cultural depth and luxurious quality.
